Did a guest set at Tableaux last night; over to ANA Jazz Bar tonight; my main show at the Tokyo American Club tomorrow for a Mardi Gras themed show; Saturday afternoon for an in-store concert and workshop/demo for Tromba Hybrid horns; then over to the Blue Note Saturday night for a little Roy Ayers action.... and did I mention love local Japanese food?!

Last night at Ten Ten Tapas was a rocking full house -'fire marshall full'- and there truly is a winning formula there with the food, the music, and the atmosphere. Bobby Bacchus and LJ Mounteney dropped in for some groovy tunes, as did Roy Vanderbroek from the Dust Covers.
Just wanted to apprise you of the Valentine's Day Weekend coming up before I leave for shows in Tokyo tomorrow.That means I will be away from Ten Ten Tapas next Saturday Feb 6 (LJ will be performing), but the following weekend is all about the L-O-V-E.
Friday will be Mad Affair, with a wonderful French Chanteuse- very romantic!
Saturday I will be there (my usual night), and you can bet I will be playing Miles Davis' version of My Funny Valentine!
Sunday is actually the 14th, the official day, and Ross with his sexy nuevo flamenco guitar will be holding court and romancing the lovers. To top it off, a $60.00 TEN COURSE TAPAS TASTING MENU will be in effect, and your palate will be in 7th heaven! Just got back from a week in SoCal, where I performed shows for NAMM over five days, and guested at Spaghettini for the Smooth Jazz News Annual Jazz Brunch, and at JessyJ's big NAMM JAM. Shout out to the editor emeritus Melanie Maxwell!
Next week I am in Tokyo Japan for some gigs, so I won't be at Ten Ten Tapas Feb 6... however I definitely will be this Saturday Jan 30! We have a special guest joining us, Bobby Bacchus, who is celebrating a year of good health after a major ordeal. Boy, can he sing! Cecile LaRochelle is likely gonna roll in, too.... Come on down and share the fun....
This Saturday is the end of the Dine Out Vancouver Festival, and your last chance to enjoy the special $30 3 course menu at Ten Ten Tapas. There are always special guests performing with me, including tonight Mimi Snyder, and if we are lucky Lisa Fennell will come by.

NEW YEARS EVE will be a real blowout at Ten Ten Tapas, with two seatings, a 5-course dinner, a glass of bubbly and Gabriel Hasselbach (that's moi) hosting the night's celebration.
We are featuring special musical guests and singers: Lisa Fennell, Cecile LaRochelle, Linda Szentes, Barb Fisher, and the bluesy stylings of pianist/singer Rob Weaver. This night was sold out for late seatings, but a couple reservations have opened up! First come first served!
