Charmed Life on Billboard at #19 after 13 weeks - and still rising!

My svelte and funky track Charmed Life (feat. Bob Baldwin) is still moving up the charts after 13 weeks, #19 on Billboard, and debuted on MediaBase at #38!

This is the third single off my last album Open Invitation, and I have had pretty good exposure so far, with more to come.

I am lucky to have had a half dozen Top 20's on my own, and several (up to Top 5) as featured artist with others.

I have been thrilled to perform at Frankie's Italian Kitchen several times, under the auspices of Coastal Jazz and Blues and Cory Weeds... thanks!

There is a new date scheduled there for me, Feb 24, 2017, so I hope to see you all come out. Saturday (tonight) is a cozy haven for you and me at 7 pm at Ten Ten Tapas (1010 Beach ave on the seawall), perfect for this type of somber weekend!
They have a new, highly experienced Chef, Rodrigo Fereira (see images below), who has created a new menu, which returns Ten Ten to their roots as a tapas place, with 15 new featured tapas. Any group of 6 or more mentioning they heard about this promotion receives a complimentary Welcome Drink for everyone in the party (Ten Ten's signature Dry Prosecco, grapefruit and bitters). Last Saturday Lisa Dunn AND her City Soul Choir came in and sang - what a party with them all- and Alita Dupray also graced the stage. Come on down singers!        BTW, FREE PARKING!

Long Weekend Music Alert!

It will be a doubly somber weekend and relatively laid back period,  Friday is a rest day, so make the most of it....

With Remembrance Day on Friday, you can stay out later on Thursday and will also be rested for Saturday and Sunday.
So here is the plan:

Thursday,  tonight, come down to the Fairview Pub (898 Broadway) for a 7 pm NOLA show (NOLA= New Orleans, La). Steve Ranta and Loren Etkin will be on board and I welcome singers, guitarists, horn players and others to sit in. See what I mean: 

Friday, take some time for family and to reflect on the horrors of war. Pay respect to those who served. We are lucky to have not experienced war firsthand in most of our lifetimes, so count your blessings. Here is my video with my original tune Come Back Home to help you visualize:

Sunday, the Sylvia Hotel 7 pm jazz jam continues (Beach Ave @ Gilford)! Last week we had four singers, two guitarists, a harmonica player, a drummer, and another horn player, and a bassist, so come on down! The prime rib is fantastic. Lisa Dunn rocked the house!

Well, I am getting some action it seems! It can be a slow arc, but also can be long lasting exposure...

My tune Charmed Life from 'Open Invitation' finally cracked the Billboard charts, debuting at #28, and is now at #24.

A lot of credit goes to co-composer and producer Lew Laing Jr., who helped make this tune a hit, with his hip production skills and in-the-pocket playing. Bob Baldwin delivers a concise yet playful solo...

We are off and running, this will be my seventh Billboard hit, following Rockin' The Ribjoint, Starpixie, Lock It Up, Ready When You Are, Propulsion, and a two top fives as featured artist on Bob Baldwin's Seabreeze and Chameleon 3000....

Three Days of the Condor

Does this look like a condor to you? No?! Then let's talk turkey and 3 days of great music!

Tonite, Friday, I return to the Pinnacle On The Pier, jazzing it up for a 7 pm show, featuring L J Mounteney. A great lounge and the Night Market is right there, Lonsdale @ Esplanade North Vancouver.

Tomorrow, Saturday I roost at Ten Ten Tapas for a 7 pm show, with guest performers. They are offering a chef designed, multicourse Thanksgiving style dinner special as well. On the seawall at 1010 Beach Ave, Free parking down the lane along the highrise.

Sunday I perform and host the wildly successful Jazz On The Bay  7-9 pm Jam Session at the iconic Sylvia Hotel @ English Bay.
Sit-ins welcome, and the hotel is also offering a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

So save Monday for Canadian Thanksgiving and hanging around home..... come eat turkey and get your jazz on!
