Well..... I just got back this week from Jazz On The Mountain at Blue, in Ontario. I had the good fortune to play in Gino Vanelli's band for his show, then had my performance, with guest guitarist Rob Tardik. The highlight for me was seeing, hearing, and hanging with the iconic Yellow Jackets. I taped some of their master classes and performance, and will share soon on this blog.
This weekend is jam packed, and I certainly hope to see you at one of my new (and regular) events, because next weekend I will be in Winnipeg performing at the Lyric Theatre, an ongoing outdoor festival there. Rob Tardik and Walle Larsson will join in- they were both on my last album, Kissed By The Sun.
This Friday in the day, 11:30 -2:30, I will be performing at a cool event (it includes free BBQ- what's not to like?) for high end goldsmith Jose Jewellery Inc, #3, 1920 - 152nd Street, in White Rock. Fun summertime dealio... Mark Madriga, our favorite weatherman will be there, too. Drop by if you are in the area...
Friday evening I am performing at The Hard Rock Casino, by the Port Mann Bridge- it turned into a cool place since the new owners renovated and changed the spin. I will be in the Unlisted Lounge with two shows starting at 9:30. Cool vibe in the Unlisted Lounge- and pretty good food, too!
Saturday afternoon I join Soultrain Express at the Lux Lounge at 4:00, as an adjunct to Billy Dixon`s already groovin`show.
Then Saturday eve at 7:30 I am back at Ten Ten Tapas, and this week the multi-talented Willy Ward will be appearing with a special set. Come check out what kind of mayhem we get into! Billy Dixon and a few more always come in to lend a vocal chord or two as well.... You gotta try the ribs!
Sunday is jazz brunch starting at 11;30, and I`m telling you, the food and view can`t be beat. The music is a perfect underscoring as well!
